Hi all,
The Arnold Classic Kyokushin Australia 2015 Championships was held at the Melbourne Convention Centre the 13-15th March.
The Championships that included so many more than just the organisations still going by that name allowed us all to come together, to work together, to train together to fight together and finally to eat together with everyone showing enormous respect for each other.
The Arnold Classic was the first of its kind in Australia that promised to be huge in Australia, and Kyokushin had an opportunity to jump on board amongst the massive crowds and the array of different sports to show people how great Kyokushin is.
I think we did that!
Our Dojo showed Great Spirit and courage with everyone trying their hardest and showing Australia that we have some of the best students going around.
Lachlan placed 3rd in the kids 8-9 years old contact after having a big day with 4 fights.
Ivan placed 4th in the novice full contact men’s division. He had some tough fights and fought some of the best in Australia; it was a great experience for him.
Alex took out the men’s open heavyweight full contact division with 2 knockdowns and 1 KO. He fought former national champions on his way to take out the division with an impressive display of head kicks on show.
It has been an absolute honour and a privilege to have been apart of this special event.
Hopefully with everyone’s support we can do it all again bigger and better next year!
